Hello, my name is Jopy Weber, and I’ve been a citizen of Second Life since way back in 2003. I’ve witnessed many changes over the years; some have made SL bigger, though not necessarily better. These days, it feels like a world that’s slowly fading, kept alive mostly by relentless marketing (so much money flying around!) and the hormones of its generally mature users, who often act like they’re in one big sex game, sometimes at the expense of anyone unlucky enough to cross their path.
And yet, there are still sparks of genuine creativity, and I’ll never be thankful enough to those who pour their time and energy into creating places, objects, and events that are truly unforgettable. Thank you—all of you, even if there aren’t nearly enough of "you".
I’m a professional musician, and in this blog, besides sharing my sometimes slightly snarky take on Second Life, I like to talk about music, especially the kind that fills my daily life isn’t always known or popular.

Ciao, il mio nome è Jopy Weber e sono cittadina di Second Life dal lontano 2003. Sono stata testimone di molti cambiamenti in SL, molti dei quali l'hanno resa più grande, ma spesso non migliore. Adesso è un mondo in declino, tenuto in vita soprattutto da un marketing intenso e capillare (quanti soldi si spendono!) e dagli ormoni dei (prevalentemente) attempati utilizzatori, che si comportano come se si trovassero in un grande sex game, sovente ai danni di chiunque incroci le loro strade.
Non mancano però spunti di sincera creatività, e non sarò mai abbastanza grata a quanti impegnano risorse ed energie per creare luoghi, oggetti o eventi difficili da dimenticare. Grazie a voi tutti, anche se siete pochi, troppo pochi.
Sono una musicista professionista e in questo blog, oltre ad occuparmi in maniera forse un poco caustica di Second Life, mi piace l'idea di parlare di musica, soprattutto di quella musica che riempie le mie quotidianità ma che non si conosce o non si ascolta frequentemente.
